The Public Affairs Section’s American Center is the research and reference service of the Public Affairs Section, specializing in current U.S. policy, legislation, trade, social and cultural issues.
The American Center collection of around 4,000 volumes is about 50% English-language and 50% French-language. Although a number of periodicals are received in hard copy, the full text of approximately 100 periodicals are available on CD-ROM.
The Rosa Parks American Center librarian provides quick reference assistance and research, using print and digital sources. The librarian also provides daily information from the Embassy to interested contacts upon request. Queries are accepted by telephone, e-mail, fax or in person during users’ hours.
Training/demonstration sessions on the resources and services of the American Center can be arranged for groups upon request.
Film showing is scheduled every 1st Friday of the month in the Auditorium in collaboration with the English Club of Niamey, at 7:00 pm.
They are spaces funded by the USG and hosted in Youth Centers (Maison de la Culture) through a partnership with the Embassy. They are located in Zinder, Agadez and Maradi
