On September 8, the U.S. Embassy held a press conference for the returning 3 Nigerien young women who participated in theWomen2Women America 2014 conference in the U.S. at the Wheelock College in Boston, Massachusetts. The August 7-16 W2W conference, which focused on building leadership capacity for young women from various countries around the world, had the theme “Take Your Seat at the Table.” Chargé d’Affaires Richard Bell delivered welcome remarks, and each of the participants had the opportunity to share something memorable about their experiences in the U.S. The event concluded with a Q & A for the members of the media. The participants asked for the media’s help in spreading the message about the importance of girls education and that young women can be active leaders in society.
